ARCH201 - Design Studio 1
Partnering with students at Tecnológico de Monterrey, in Puebla, MX, this housing studio focused on intervention at Galaxia la Calera, an INFONAVIT Public Housing Community. The students goal was to double the square footage of living space available while allowing for flex units that operated as storefronts, home businesses, or any type of supplemental income space. Students were encouraged to look at how the community was failing in light of the impacts of COVID-19 and governmental lockdown.
INFONAVIT Recognition:
Based on the potential improvements that could be brought to Mexican workers lives, the project was selected as the winner of INFONAVIT’s design competition in 2020 and carried out in real life.
